The new xcel range of PIRs (passive infra-reds) from Cooper Security offer both a radio and wired solution in the same common housing to complement hybrid installations.
It has been launched to support the new i-on40 panel which offers 40 hybrid zones in one end station for ease of installation.
All products in the range have been independently tested to EN50131-2 besides testing by the product company. The range consists of a standard and pet tolerant wired PIR and a standard and pet-tolerant radio PIR, the products have a 12m range and a 90 degrees field of view with five layers of detector beams to give detailed coverage of the protected area. This performance is enhanced by a dual element sensor and digital processing. The new housing is designed for corner or wall mounting, with flexible provision for cable entry on the wired version, while the radio version is powered by two alkaline AA batteries and offers up to 100m radio range.
