The World Government Printing and Publishing conference is running in Arusha, Tanzania on July 3 to 6.
Among the exhibitors is manufacturer Payne Security, whose technical sales manager Martin Chambers said: "Discussion will cover trends in security printing and development of passports, fields in which Payne has experience."
Attenders are Government ministers and civil servants, according to organisers. Many African governments, it is claimed, are starting to address a need for secure official documentation.
