Cross Point, the the Dutch manufacturer of wireless identification and detection equipment, has introduced the XM3 MICROPROXS dual frequency proximity reader. The company has also introduced the first in a series of accessories that are available with the XM3 MICROPROXS. The XMLR3 long range reader is an antenna adapter designed to extend the read range of the XM3 MICROPROXS. More freedom of movement can be achieved by using a Cross Point long range reader, which increases read range up to 50cm (20 inches). This read range offers hands free identification whilst retaining the required security level. Automatic synchronisation through RF communication between XM3/XMLR3 systems in close range abolishes the need the necessity to hardwire these units. The XM3 with the reader is, similar to the XM3, easy to install, set up, use and maintain with XM3 Manage Software, the manufacturer reports. The XMLR3 reads all 125 kHz tags based on EM Marin 4102 technologies. XC4 ISO 7810 cards are recommended for best performance. See www.crosspoint.nl.
