Freedom, a new electronic security product is being launched at stand A80 at IFSEC to protect objects on display such as cameras, china and jewellery. The system has been developed by Myriad Technologies, the UK manufacturer of retail merchandising security. It can monitor items using uniquely coded tags and knows when any of them has been picked up. As well as providing display security it can also be an aid to sales staff and retail management. The product is instantly alerted when a display item is removed and can trigger an alarm, activate CCTV or simply notify sales staff that they have an interested customer. Hugh Matthew, Managing Director of Coventry-based Myriad Technologies, says: ?In addition to securing display items, the system can create a security zone for products in offices, universities and schools, hospitals, in fact anywhere where valuable items are at risk.?
