The Risco Group, owner of GardTec and Rokonet UK, has recently announced a general restructuring of the Group’s UK operations.
The main part of the plan, the firm says, is the formation of a new entity, Risco Group UK, which, from operating from April, will act as an umbrella for the activities of both Rokonet and GardTec. Risco Group UK will serve both companies equally.
Since Risco’s acquisition of GardTec (formerly Gardiner Technology) several years ago, the group has maintained separate sales strategies for the products of the two distinctive companies. While Rokonet’s products are sold though a network of distributors, GardTec’s range of panels, detectors and sounders have been marketed directly to security installation companies. GardTec is a manufacturer of intruder alarm systems and accessories, Rokonet is known primarily as a supplier of motion detectors. In other parts of the world, the firm adds, Rokonet is known as a systems manufacturer. In fact, sales of Rokonet’s integrated wired, wireless and hybrid panels exceed that of detectors in some of these regions, the firm says. The company says it chose to develop specialised panels adapted specifically to the UK market’s requirements and industry standards. Subsequently, flagship systems, the integrated security platform, the ProSYS and the WISDOM wireless standalone panel were adapted.
What they say
Rob Evans, Sales Director at Risco Group UK, said that the current customer and distribution channels of both companies will not be impacted by the change. He said that "basic sales strategies for each of the GardTec and Rokonet brands will remain the same". He added: “As a larger company with greater combined resources at our disposal, our customers will have access to more sales representatives and a higher quality of service. We feel that by making available a wider range of products with enhanced logistical support, our customers will be the first to benefit.”
