Risk 09 Conference

The Deputy Mayor of London, Richard Barnes is to open National Risk 09.

Among the topics is Mumbai. Among invited speakers are Narinder Nayar, who has been tasked with advising the Indian State and National Government with analysing the lessons learnt from the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

National Risk 09 will run at London’s City Hall, June 10. Sessions will include:

Mumbai terror attacks 2008 – is the UK ready to face a similar risk?

Information assurance – how secure is our flow of information and how do we ensure personal information is not shared with the wrong people?

Transport sector – how the risks outlined in the National Risk Register could affect each transport sector and how they are preparing for such challenges

Utilities and Critical National Infrastructure – business continuity for utilities companies to protect national infrastructure

Catalysts for Civil Disobedience – what makes people protest? How do we deal with extremism in the future?

Civil unrest in an unstable economic climate

Facing environmental climate changes and security risks?

The conference is organised jointly by Crisis Response Journal and Valentis Bridge, headed by Brett Lovegrove, former Head of Counter Terrorism for the City of London Police.
