RUSI Terror Day

by Msecadm4921

Terrorism: Emerging Threats and the UK Responses is the title of a March 15 conference at Royal United Services Institute, Whitehall, London.

In light, say organisers, of recent developments to the UK’s National Security Strategy, RUSI’s 2011 Terrorism conference will examine the terrorist threats to the UK emerging from Yemen, resurgent dissident Irish Republicanism, the Horn of Africa and the internet. The conference puts particular stress on the multiple ways in which the UK will respond to these threats.

The conference will focus on four specific areas:

Emerging Threats to UK Security
Countering Radical Ideology
Development, International Aid and UK Security
Technology and Countering the Terrorist Threat

Confirmed contributors:

Sir David Pepper KCMG,formerly Director GCHQ
Debbie Gupta, Director, Prevent and RICU, Office for Security and Counter Terrorism
Professor Andrew Silke, Director Terrorism Studies, University of East London.

This conference will gather together speakers from Government, Industry and Academia and is for those with an interest in emerging terrorist threats and the UK’s developing responses to these threats. For further information, and to register visit –
