Did you see a large blue safe being dumped along a busy road-side in Slough at the weekend?
If so, police would like to hear from you as you may be holding vital information to help with an on-going burglary investigation. The safe was left along Stoke Road, between Stoke Poges golf club and the local crematorium, sometime between 1pm on Saturday (30/7) and 6am yesterday (1/8).
It had been stolen from a factory-warehouse in Petersfield Avenue, Slough, which had been left locked up by its owners for the weekend. Other items, including a number plate making machine and various DIY tools, were also stolen during the burglary. It is estimated that the total cost of items stolen is in the region of £4,000.
What they say
PC Philip Wilson, officer investigating, said: โIt appears that the offenders dumped the safe when they realised that it didnโt contain much cash or other valuables. The offenders would have needed a vehicle, possibly a Transit or something similar, to transport the safe away from the factory and then later when dumping it. Several people would have also been needed to carry the safe.โ
