Network CCTV product manufacturer Axis Communications announced growth of sales and profitability in 2004.
Axis’ net sales in financial year ending on December 31, 2004 worldwide, were up 11 per cent to 691 million krona from 624M in the previous year. Network-based video solutions sales (including network cameras and video servers) rose by 33 per cent for the full year and by more than 40 per cent in Europe and the US.
Video solutions showed an increase in demand during the last quarter of 2004, rising by 38 per cent as compared to the final quarter of 2003. Video solutions accounted for 73 per cent of all Axis’ sales in this period.
The group’s operating profit also rose to 48M krona (from 1M in the previous year), again attributed to what the firm called a surge in demand for network video solutions from the last quarter of 2004. Axis signed a number of customer agreements with the likes of Western Australia Public Transport and Turning Stone Casino in the US. It formed a strategic partnership with Securitas. Axis was also appointed as a strategic supplier to Honeywell. The company launched a total of 20 new video products based on Axis’ new integrated chip ARTPEC-2.
