SASIG: Social Networking

by Msecadm4921

After a Social Networking SASIG Masterclass, hosted by CSC earlier this summer, another session on this topic is running in October, hosted by Standard Life in Edinburgh.

As organisers say, the phenomenon of social networking continues to grow and move ever-more mainstream. Delegates from the Summer Masterclass concluded that it was unrealistic for organisations to ignore social networking and
that the answer was to proactively tackle it. Will your company lose out if it doesnโ€™t recognise the benefits of engaging in social networking?

Topics include the pros and cons of social networking; the business drivers for its use; impacts and benefits for security when integrating these platforms into your business at both an organisational and individual level; educating your employees on the use of social media and insight into the mind-set of Generation Y.

John Whitehill, Head of Security and Business Continuity, Standard Life for hosting
the event. He will be joined by:

Mark Johnson, CEO, The Risk Management Group

Colin Fraser, Acting Director IT Service Delivery, Lloyds Banking Group

Bernadette Palmer, Senior Communications Specialist, The Security Company

Host is Standard Life, 30 Lothian Road Edinburgh, EH1 2DH on Wednesday, October 12. Registration will commence at 9.30am with closing remarks scheduled for 3.30pm. Please note that meetings are not generally open to suppliers and contractors.

Numbers for this event are strictly limited to 50 delegates. A minimum donation of £75 to charity will be required to attend. (This charge will be waived for those attending on behalf of any registered charity). All proceeds will go to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
