Supported by the Home Office, a RUSI one day conference turns to academia, looking at the engagement programmes in place and the main funding avenues available. Discussions will focus on emerging technologies and how they can be applied to security and, at the same time, how they must be protected from malicious use.
It runs on June 3 at the institute’s offices in Whitehall, London, SW1A 2ET. An interactive, discussion-based programme will focus on four key security areas:

Security in biomedical science
Trusted identities in cyberspace
Contextualising the insider threat
Situational awareness through social media.

Speakers from government, the private sector and academia will set out current security challenges and discuss the technological advances needed to meet them. Delegates will be given the opportunity to discuss ideas that may help to shape the research and development agenda in the coming months.

With sessions looking into how public sector funding can be accessed, as well as how to ensure efficient engagement is maintained between Government, academia, industry and end-users, as well as an update on the engagement activities of the Office of Security and Counter Terrorism, the conference aims to generate ideas that can springboard into funded research projects.

For more information and to register visit –
