SectorGuard is buying a West Midlands based security company as part of what it calls its strategy of expanding its services into the region.
SectorGuard is paying an initial £106,000 with further sums depending on performance for Choice Security Services, based in Stourbridge, near Wolverhampton.
Choice, which has been trading for five years and last year reported turnover of £1.3m, operates static guarding, mobile patrol and key holding services for clients including Allied Healthcare (UK), Wolverhampton City Council, St George57;s Hospital, Stafford, and Avonline plc. It is the second recent acquisition made by SectorGuard in the region and demonstrates its commitment to expand its services outside of its London and Home Counties heartland, according to the firm.
Choice’s office and SectorGuard’s existing office in Coventry will be merged and the combined centre will serve as a hub for the current expansion into the Midlands including the acquisition announced on December 1 of Grantham based Nationwide (GB) Limited. Further branches in the north of England will be opened when there is the appropriate critical mass, the firm says.

The economic activity within the region is generating increased demand for the security services offered by our company, both within commerce and the public sector. We have experience of working with clients across the spectrum and believe that the integration of Choice and the recently acquired Nationwide business with our existing operations will strengthen our position in this fast growing industry."
SectorGuard, founded in 1998, supplies manned guarding solutions for clients including Birkbeck College, the London Borough of Brent, MFI, and Shell International. Services provided include static guarding, mobile patrols and key holding and alarm response.
