As part of refurbishment, Clyde Shopping Centre in Clydebank, Scotland, has invested more than œ120,000 in a CCTV, public address, security and fire system. Hills Electrical Contractors awarded the contract to ADT Fire & Security, who are installing 32 cameras in the shopping centre and car park, a Minerva FX fire alarm and a PA and voice alarm system. Eddie McAlinden, Design Manager at ADT?s Glasgow branch, said: ?The CCTV system will act primarily as a deterrent for shoplifters but will also help the shopping centre?s security team to identify trouble-makers such as pickpockets and vandals. It will hopefully help lead to a significant reduction in crime within the shopping centre. The Minerva MX fire alarm and public address and voice activation system will keep everyone safe in the event of a fire, by first alerting them of the outbreak and then ensuring their safe exit.?
