Reports on two firms from the recent Airport, Port and Terminal Security Exhibition in London.

At the recent Airport, Port and Terminal Security Exhibition in London, visitors to the Touchstone Electronics stand were able to see how the Oxfordshire-based company integrates security and information systems for large terminal applications. Touchstone, with business partners Nice Systems and CitySync, showed applications of digital video recording linked to automatic number plate recognition. Steve Tyler, Managing Director at Touchstone, said: ?We were particularly impressed by the high calibre of visitor to the show and the technology we demonstrated made a substantial impact due to its topical relevance to today?s requirements for airports, ports and terminals.? The installer has been involved with airport security at Heathrow and Gatwick for more than 20 years.

Vehicle security company the Maple Group was among exhibitors at the Airport, Port & Terminal Security Exhibition in London, showing two new products from its range of security equipment for commercial vehicles. The Stockport-based company also promoted the nationwide installation expertise offered through its Maple Fleet Services division. The firm?s new Slamsecure Slamlock features a new design locking mechanism. Also on display was a new Barndoor Freightlock designed for the barndoors of a commercial vehicle or trailer. This system is designed to operate every time a vehicle barndoor is closed. The firm has nationwide engineers to install a range of commercial vehicles security products including locks and grills, reversing aids, satellite and radio tracking systems and fleet management systems. Steve Hodson, Sales Manager at Maple, added: ?Although this was a specialist exhibition on airports, ports and terminals, we were extremely busy for the full three days.?
