Dave Humphries has joined the Security Industry Authority as Director of Compliance and Enforcement.
He takes over from Acting Director Dianne Tranmer who took the role after last year’s retirement of Andy Drane. Dave has 25 years’ experience working at HM Revenue & Customs (and previously at HM Customs and Excise and the Inland Revenue). He was most recently Head of Criminal and Enforcement Policy tackling serious non-compliance against HMRC. He said: “I am very much looking forward to my new role at the SIA. The organisation is one that people should rightly be proud being a part of, doing an important job of tackling crime and the associated harm that crime causes. I want to meet and get to know as many people as possible in my first few weeks and I have been much encouraged by my previous visits to the SIA offices.”
and was responsible for policies concerning criminal justice, proceeds of crime, fraud and the links to wider criminality. Dave was also on the Oversight Group of the UK Human Trafficking Centre.
SIA Chief Executive, Bill Butler, said: “I am delighted that Dave has joined us, bringing a wealth of expertise and knowledge. As we move forward, we will be focusing our efforts on working more closely with enforcement partners and other government bodies to deliver our responsibility to protect the public. I am confident that Dave is the right person to guide the SIA’s operational activity in this new and exciting direction.”

Dave Humphries is married with two children. He runs the children’s work at an Anglican church and is a member of the Parochial Church Council. He is a Chelsea fan and enjoys travel and politics.
