Silver And Chrome

by Msecadm4921

Dedicated Micros? Digital Sprite 2 recorder offers new features following its predecessor Digital Sprite, its makers report.

Now designed in a silver and chrome unit, Digital Sprite 2 offers video multiplexing, digital recording, network video transmission and dome control in one package. The new model introduces a new remote network support facility, allowing the operator to make system adjustments over the network without a site visit. The operator connects to the product in a password-protected admin mode that allows access to the menus as they appear on the unit. System adjustments such as record rates, day/night schedules and activity grid amendments can then be made remotely. The keyboard provides control of up to 16 units and thus 256 cameras. Up to two internal hard disks and the ability to archive to external RAID units can provide up to eight months continuous digital recording. All hard disk recording has a digital signature applied and is accessible to the user at the touch of a button, or via GOTO and event preview facilities. Provided with Digital Sprite 2, the new IR remote gives the operator “front panel” control of the unit. Capabilities include the facility to change cameras and camera views, search using the GOTO function and review of the event list and playback of images from the hard disk. No additional wires or cabling are required. Pauline Norstrom, Marketing Manager at DM, says: “In addition to the benefits the new features provide, such as the Free IR Remote, activity search and audio capability, Digital Sprite 2?s Remote Network Support is reducing the need for a site visit to make system adjustments.?
