The UK manufacturer Raytec are showing at Safety and Security Asia, running from October 12 to 14, stand J07 Hall 401/402.
CCTV lighting product company Raytec will showcase their WARRIOR II range of ATEX rated, explosion protected, LED lighting at the ‘Safety and Security Asia’ exhibition, Singapore. Available in Infra-Red and White-Light, the low energy WARRIOR II units are designed to deliver security and safety for all zone 1 and zone 2 hazardous environments. The illuminators deliver images from any CCTV system at night; up to 150m with angles from 10-120 degrees, the makers say.
Raytec have recently confirmed a partnership agreement with Singapore based company, Ventionex International Pte Ltd, who are specialists in the specification and installation of lighting for hazardous environments in the oil and gas, petrochemical and energy industries. Ventionex have turned to Raytec WARRIOR II LED lighting as a solution for a number of onshore and offshore projects, including power plants and oil refineries in South East Asia and the Middle East.
Installation in a hazardous environment can be costly, as it carries a high level of risk and requires certified engineers and specialist equipment. Old bulb technology has a short life and so requires continuous replacement and maintenance, incurring labour costs. With WARRIOR II, the LED technology delivers a ten year life and requires zero maintenance, making it suitable it’s claimed for areas which are difficult to access, whilst allowing the user to make labour cost savings. Available in a mains powered or low voltage version and featuring an integrated PSU, WARRIOR II also makes installation quicker and easier.
“It is extremely important for us to use a long life, zero maintenance lighting solution like WARRIOR II, as labour and replacement in a difficult to reach hazardous environment would otherwise be very costly,” says KW Mah, Executive Director of Ventionex.
WARRIOR II is also energy efficient and its low power consumption allows the user to save on electrical costs, save energy and reduce their CO2 emissions, the makers add.
Many hazardous environments require site lighting to be ATEX rated, which means that the illuminator will not cause an explosion by igniting the surrounding (external) flammable gases or vapors. Raytec WARRIOR II illuminators achieve full ATEX certification and still deliver high output illumination through a highly efficient and purpose designed front window. This, with its uniformity of illumination and colour rendition, allows for CCTV images, while the White-Light WARRIOR II illuminators are also suited it’s claimed for general lighting purposes to create a safer more evenly lit area.
WARRIOR II is supplied in a marine-grade aluminium housing. For more information on WARRIOR II visit –
