Smart Card Management

by msecadm4921

Cryptomathic, a provider of e-security has released a new version of CardInk, its EMV data preparation system.

The new release, version 2.0, now supports MULTOS, including the MasterCard application M/Chip 4. In addition, CardInk 2.0 also supports the new single application MULTOS platform. The so-called MULTOS technology has the highest achievable non-military security certification and allows for exceptionally secure management of the information stored on smart cards, the firm says. MULTOS technology also allows for flexible management of multiple applications on cards, post issuing.

Cryptomathic has already delivered solutions for multiple application smart cards, including one to Cr‚dit Agricole in France. Due to the generic nature of the MULTOS implementation in CardInk, however, Cryptomathic says it can now implement new data preparation applications into CardInk outside of EMV and financial applications. CardInk 2.0 has been released in response to market requirements for a multi-application, cost-effective and flexible alternative to existing commercial data preparation products available in the market. Cryptomathic has worked with some of its partners to release the enhanced offering. These include: B”we Orga CardTech, KeyCorp and ACI WorldWide. Cryptomathic has itself worked with EMV since 1996 and has smart card experience with tachograph, magnetic stripe issuing, PKI and ID.
