Stockton Cameras

by msecadm4921

Wellington Square has been fitted with a CCTV system covering public areas, including the car park and delivery sites.

Some 22 CDX9714 cameras from Baxall were installed by Centurion Security. The product is a digital signal processing colour camera that performs down to 0.4 lux and has 480 TVL. This was vital, as David Armstrong of Centurion says: “As the cameras are open to the elements and are often in areas where there is poor lighting, we needed a colour camera that is capable of giving good resolution at low light levels, across the board. We also needed those cameras to provide a good, strong video signal due to the extent of the site. We used twisted pair cabling due to this – coax wasn?t good enough. We also put an active hub in to help, but we didn?t need it after all – the cameras were that good!” The cameras have a Sony EXview HAD CCD with micro lens over each pixel; this ensures increased infrared sensitivity in low light conditions, the makers report. Its white balance (selectable between auto tracing, indoor, outdoor and fluorescent settings) means that individual cameras can be adapted to specific light levels and sources. The camera features back light compensation with eight user selectable configurations. Hence the camera can be instructed to ignore certain areas and stop trying to ‘compensate’ for the varying brightness in this area (which can lead to silhouetting). It comes with genlock to synchronise the camera to another video signal. This function stops camera images from ‘rolling’. Wellington Square has been developed by Wellington Square Development Company, a joint venture between HBG Properties and Swan Hill Properties. Visit www.baxall.com
