Strata Sponsorship

by msecadm4921

Greater Manchester Police’s North Manchester division can announce a ‘first for the force’. Strata Security has provided a twelve-month sponsorship of an existing police vehicle that is currently in use across north Manchester.

The yellow GMP liveried van will feature the sponsorship branding for 12 months following the agreement made by city centre crime reduction advisor PC Stuart Pizzey MBE and the chief executive of the company, who is a former Superintendent of Cheshire Constabulary, Geoff Churchman.

Strata has several security contracts across the city centre and shown great support, the police force reports, for work carried out by GMP in north Manchester.

Crime reduction advisor, PC Stuart Pizzey MBE, said: “This is an unusual agreement and something that is new to the division and the force as a whole. In many ways it makes so much sense to do this with an existing vehicle because we know the van is fit for all types of police use and will be out and about in the community straight away. We are extremely happy with this agreement with Strata and hope to see this partnership continue into the future.”

The presentation of the sponsorship cheque was made to Superintendent Mark Burtonwood at Bootle Street police station in front of the vehicle, where the Strata branding has been added. Mark Burtonwood also presented a GMP plaque, acknowledging this ‘Partnership in Action’ back to company Chief Financial Officer and former South Yorkshire police officer, Paul Smith.

Supt Mark Burtonwood of GMP’s North Manchester division said: "The support of Strata Security is an excellent demonstration of how private business can link in with the police service to help support neighbourhood policing and the community as a whole. We are delighted that Strata Security has agreed to this unique arrangement.”

Geoff Churchman, Managing Director of Strata Security, said: “Businesses are much more likely to succeed in areas where people feel safer. Working with and sponsoring police will benefit everyone. It is with sincere pride that our company associates itself with Greater Manchester Police in this venture.”
