Following its Business Continuity Conference in September, facilities management product firm MASS Systems is hosting a further event aimed at helping organisations have a sound understanding of procedures that will help their company survive a disruption.
The conference titled "How prepared are you?" will take place on Wednesday, November 30, at The Rubens at the Palace, London.

"Business Continuity Planning is high on the agenda of most businesses. The need to be prepared for an emergency has been brought into sharp focus by such recent events as the terrorism attacks in London, floods in Carlisle and the tornados in Birmingham. Every year, natural and man-made disasters affect millions of people and cause tremendous financial loss to organisations. Less obvious, though, are the many severe disruptions which are caused by less dramatic events, many of which are very localised to an organisationโs operating environment", says Wendy Lloyd, Marketing Co-ordinator, MASS Systems.

The aim of the conference, say organisers, is to make companies think systematically about the risks that could affect their business and understand why continuity plans need to be comprehensive, effective and well-communicated. It will show how organisations need to commit finances and resources to facilities and data centres as, in the event of a disaster, communication channels and support services must remain open. Wendy Lloyd adds: "It is vital that all those responsible for essential support services have a sound understanding of procedures that will help their company survive a disaster."
