Switch Mode PSUs

by msecadm4921

ADI-GARDINER (UK) now offers a range of Elmdene environmentally friendly power supply units (PSUs) that deliver the distributor says significant energy savings when used with security solutions.

Produced by manufacturer Elmdene, the range of switch mode PSUs features technology that automatically powers down when not in use, saving energy and money for end users. The switch mode PSUs – designed to work with CCTV, Intruder and Access Control systems – operate at approximately 80 per cent energy efficiency, whereas a linear power supply will normally operate at just 60 per cent efficiency.

Elmdene produces both 12V dc and 24V ac & dc switch mode PSUs across its ‘VRS’ and ‘G’ ranges. Boxed power supplies are formed from 1.2mm powder coated steel and finished in white. Unboxed units are mounted on a 1.2mm galvanised steel chassis. Encapsulated units are class II double insulated. In addition, all Elmdene PSUs have been rigorously tested and conform to EN 60950:2000, EN 50130-4:1995 and EN 50081-1:1992.

"Energy efficiency is a key concern for companies and organisations operating across all sectors," Colin Quinlan, UK and European Sales Manager at Elmdene says. "Working with ADI-GARDINER, we are helping end users reduce their carbon footprint without compromising security."
