TFT Monitors

by Msecadm4921

A new family of high-resolution TFT flat-screen monitors has been added by Siemens Building Technologies to its range of CCTV products.

Available in 15, 17 and 19-inch versions, the new monitors, which are specifically designed for security applications, the manufacturers say, have tough metal housings and a protective glass pane, allowing them to be used in even the most demanding of environments, it is claimed. All of the monitors offer two dedicated BNC video inputs, both with a loop-through option, an S-VHS input and a DVI port. They are, therefore, equally suitable for use with composite video equipment and PC-based digital recorders, according to the makers

Picture-in-picture

A picture-in-picture facility allows two inputs to be displayed at once. (Video/Video, Video/DVI, Video/S-Video or S-Video/DVI). The monitors are also equipped with two audio inputs and outputs, and they include integral loudspeakers. For set up, the monitors use a OSD (on-screen display) system. Suited, it is claimed, for use in areas where high ambient light levels are likely, the monitors combine brightness with contrast, resolution and an anti-glare coating, making them a choice for both standalone and central-station monitor-wall applications, according to the makers. The units feature VESA standard mountings, and have a stand which can be detached for wall mounting.
