Making its debut from 30 June to 2 July 2011 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre, Secutech Thailand drew 116 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions who showcased their products in 5,240 sqm of exhibition space.
Exhibitors came from Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, the UK and the USA.
Visitors to the show numbered 3,929 from 39 countries and regions. The top five international visitor countries outside of Thailand were (greatest first) Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, India and China. Secutech Thailand is organised by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd and IPEX โ International Promotion & Exhibition Co Ltd. Government supporters for the show include the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Labour, Royal Thai Police and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).

Opening Secutech Thailand, Mr Nakorn Silpa-Archa, the Deputy Permanent-Secretary of the Ministry of Labour said: โThe ministry is committed to continuing its mission with an emphasis on โpreventive strategyโ. Local and overseas companies showcased at the show, such as AVTECH, Axis, Bacom, Chubb, CNB, CSST, Dahua, Everfocus, GUTS, Hikvision, LG, Samsung, Sony, Tamron and Vivotek. In addition, the first show featured pavilions from Korea and Taiwan.
Thai exhibitor GUTS Securitech Co Ltd distributes the Canadian brand Avigilon. โThis is the first international and professional show for our sector in Thailand and I think itโs a good move for the organiser to launch this show,โ said Mr Nakarn Kingchansilp, Marketing Manager for the company. โWeโve had a busy booth and collected so many useful contacts.โ
25 seminars provided networking and industry updating opportunities
Secutech Thailand organised a number of fringe programmes for industry players and experts to network and exchange ideas. A total of 25 seminar sessions were organised under the five themed forums and conferences of Fire & Safety Seminar, APSA Thailand Conference, Global Digital Surveillance Forum Thailand, IP & HDCCTV Technology Showcase and Product Presentation and these attracted 736 attendees.
The Fire & Safety Seminar was presented by a number of respected speakers who talked about regulations and standards, case studies and the latest technologies relating to fire and safety. Speaker Lt. Warin Dechjareon, Deputy Director General for Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Fire and Rescue Department commented: โThis seminar is a channel to help the industry better understand our department and it also helps us understand their needs. In addition, the audience can update themselves with the latest rules and regulations and this will help them to better plan their businesses.โ
Running alongside the show was the APSA Thailand Conference which is sponsored by the Asian Professional Security Association. The conference explored new business concepts and share experiences with attendees on how to enter the electronic security business in Thailand. Speaker Mr Anthony Lee, CPP โ Vice President Region 33, ASIS International commented: โI understand that many businesses have limited budget for their security and safety plan. Therefore, I introduced to them value-added and cost-effective security solutions to meet their requirements.โ
Another popular event was the Global Digital Surveillance Forum Thailand where a number of industryโs leading software and hardware providers shared the latest IP and intelligent solutions. Mr Oh Tee LEE, Regional Director for Axis Communications (S) Pte Ltd spoke on the topic of โNetwork Video Surveillance Moving Beyond Securityโ. He remarked: โI gave an update on the latest technology. Sometimes users are quite confused, so I hope to assist them in identifying good and bad products.โ
