Tickets are on offer to our readers for a debate on the evening of April 23 in Leeds titled ‘the Business of Security & Protection’.
Organised by Marketing Leeds and the University of Leeds and taking place at the Royal Armouries Museum, the event will feature a panel of national figures, exploring the ways businesses need to secure and protect themselves in today’s risk conscious environment.
The event will explore the many security hazards that businesses face, ranging from money laundering and cyber crime to burglary and terrorism. It will allow us to highlight and explore how businesses are working to limit the threats they face, debate whether high profile threats such as acts of terrorism have created a security obsessed culture and discuss just whose responsibility it is to ensure our businesses are safe and secure.
The debate will be chaired by BBC newsreader Matthew Amroliwala, and will feature a panel of figures drawn from across the UK, including:
· Bruce Mann (Head of Civil Contingencies Secretariat, Cabinet Office)
· David Crompton (Deputy Chief Constable, West Yorkshire Police)
· Robert Wardle (Consultant, DLA Piper and former Head of Serious Fraud Office)
· Richard Williams OBE (Pro-Vice Chancellor, enterprise and knowledge transfer, University of Leeds)
