Business continuity training providers in the UK, apart from one major provider, are a cottage industry mainly supplied by small consultancy companies who offer training as an adjunct to their consultancy offering. So say the men behind Business Continuity Training Ltd, formed on January 1.
To get away from the cottage industry feel, their training was to be offered through a company which only offering training, with a fully manned office and the ability to pay and book courses online.
The company reports that it features
1. Courses delivered throughout the UK; Courses delivered in London, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester.
2. Courses including the 5 day Business Continuity Institute Licensed Course and the ‘Practical Course’ aimed at SMEs.
3. Value – In times of downturn, staff training if often the first budget to be cut. BCT offers its courses at the same or below the market prices. By providing training locations thought the country students can make further savings by commuting from home rather than spend money on food and accommodation.
4. Templates and worked example – BCTs 2 day ‘Practical Course’ is the one of the first business continuity courses to offer alongside training, a full set of business continuity templates (which are used throughout the course) and a full set of completed business continuity documents. The course provides all the templates and information required to start to implement business continuity in the organisation.
BCT’s Head of Training, Charlie Maclean-Bristol, said: "Launching a training company at the beginning of an economic downturn is a gamble but organisations will always require business continuity and hence training.
