Petards are launching Swift OFDM-Pro at the Airport, Port and Terminal Security (APTS) exhibition taking place at Olympia 2, London next week.
The Swift OFDM-Pro, or Coefficient of Orthagonal Frequency Divisional Multiplex, provides the ability to transmit video signal from camera to base station without many of the inherent problems of the traditional and somewhat dated transmission methods currently used. The product uses new digital modulation techniques to deliver what the manujfacturers call crisp, stable and detailed pictures often without the requirement for line-of-sight radio transmission paths. The Swift technology out-performs existing systems in typically difficult areas for the use of radio transmission such as airports, industrial sites, city centres and even in tunnels; inherently the system provides a high degree of picture security, Petards say. Swift OFDM-Pro typically covers distances greater than current technology by up to 30 per cent, the makers say, while still using the same power output, further illustrating the benefits over and above other typical transmission methods, the firm claims.
