G4S Justice Services reports it has commenced services of a recently awarded three year contract to operate the Border and Immigration Agency’s asylum claimants’ transport service – Transport PLUS.

Transport PLUS facilitates the transportation of individuals who are claiming asylum during the first few weeks of their claim. Journeys include taking claimants from their point of claim to initial accommodation centres and to weekly appointments with the Border and Immigration Agency.

Commencing on Saturday, September 1, the contract is worth up to £12m over the next three years and draws upon existing skills and expertise within the G4S portfolio of services.

What they say

Paul Moonan, Managing Director of G4S Justice Services Ltd, comments: “This is an exciting time for our organisation. The award of this contract allows us the opportunity to strengthen the services we already offer the Agency under our Detention & Escorting business and we are looking forward to continuing the strong working relationship we have already developed with the Border and Immigration Agency and other stakeholders.
