CBC report that they are soon launching an eight-channel digital video recorder (DVR) for transport applications.
The recorder has been designed for the mobile market (such as buses and coaches, trains, ships and aeroplanes) and has been engineered, the firm adds, to cope with the shock and vibration problems commonly associated in these environments. The Mobile DVR is easy to install, it is claimed; and data can be retrieved from the product using USB Memory stick, LAN, WiLAN and GPRS.
CBC, the manufacturers of Computar and Ganz CCTV products, have added twisted pair cabling to their range. The firmโs twisted pair transmission products are designed for CCTV signal transmission over unshielded twisted pair wire (CAT 5 network cable). This type of transmission is an alternative, the makers report, to coaxial and fibre-based systems. UTP transmission systems are suited, it is claimed, to larger CCTV installations, multi-building site campuses and buildings with existing structured cabling systems. Typical applications, the manufacturers add, include schools, casinos, hospitals, apartment blocks, warehouses, car parks, power plants, prisons and office blocks.
