The University College London Centre for Security and Crime Science are running the sixth in their series of executive seminars on crime and security in the 21st century.
The title is Open Source Intelligence; by Steve Gibson. It’s on June 3 from 6.30pm to 8pm, at Wilkins Haldane Room, Main Building, North and South Junction, University College London, Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT. Cost:Nil but by invitation only. Refreshments:Wine and canapés will be served
The speaker
Steve Gibson, formerly of the Department of Defence Management and Security Analysis, Cranfield University, will discuss why open source intelligence is important and illustrate its use using examples such as the case of the missing canoe-ist (presumed dead), John Darwin, who five years later turned up at a London police station. He will also explore the cultural barriers of using this type of intelligence. This seminar is for those involved in detection and the intelligence community.
