Recruitment firm Select Security Recruitment (SSR) has been awarded umbrella company status by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).
SSR will be able undertake checks against the Police National Computer (PNC), regional police forces? intelligence records and the Department of Health register. Del Hunter, Director at the London-based recruitment company says: ?We have been using the services of the CRB to support our own recruitment activities since its launch; umbrella status means that we are now able to provide this service to all employers.? Full CRB checks are currently taking six to 12 weeks, depending upon the level of check required, SSR report. Del Hunter adds that employees can still apply for checks on themselves by telephoning the CRB directly (0870 909 0844). Such checks are taking about four weeks.
