Bristol is the venue for the 2011 AUCSO (Association of University Chief Security Officers) conference. Booking has opened for the event.

The event runs from the Wednesday, March 30 to Friday, April 1. Topics to be aired by speakers include the future of the Security Industry Authority; student safety; outsourcing versus in-house; and maintaining security in the face of public sector cuts. Speakers include Colin Holland; Roger Morgan of Sussex and Terry Branch of Imperial College; AUCSO chair Mike McCormack; and the host, Jerry Woods of Bristol. Delegates will stay at the four-star Holland House Hotel, on Redcliff Hill, in central Bristol and near the conference venue, the University of Bristol’s Wills Memorial Building, pictured, at the top of Park Street. Planned is a pan-Asian/curry night in the hotel on the Tuesday as an informal affair.
