Unlocking Wireless Market

Radicchio, the global consortium of international e-commerce, mobile and Internet market firms, striving to develop a universal framework for secure wireless e-commerce, has announced BT’s continued support for its initiatives.

BTexact Technologies, BT’s research and technology business, is one of a long list of member companies in Radicchio, and will provide expertise and support for the consortium’s security development programme. Radicchio aims to help establish a globally recognised secure infrastructure that will support the emerging e-commerce market, an industry Datamonitor estimates is growing at 46 per cent a year. “Creating a secure and integrated operating practice within the wireless e-commerce marketplace is the key to unlocking the multi-million dollar potential of this emerging marketplace,” said Peter Adams, manager of mobile standards at BTexact. “The development and promotion of international interoperability standards will only be achieved by all members of this community working together and we are pleased to support Radicchio in reaching this aim.?

Radicchio is offering companies a point for research, discussion and the adoption of a security standard. The development of business models for future revenue generation and identifying the requirements accurately for future mobile e-commerce solutions is essential for success in this market place, the firm says.
