Pelco by Schneider Electric is now offering UTP (unshielded twisted pair) cable capability exclusively to Camclosure 2 customers – in addition to the standard, built-in coaxial option.
With UTP cabling, the US firm says, performance is achieved with significantly lower cable costs, easier installs and extended cable distances. A balun was specifically created as a mating part to meet UTP video output demand for the Camclosure 2 family of integrated camera systems.
Increasingly, the product company reports, UTP is being used in video security systems. Customers need just one balun part for each Camclosure 2 camera ordered, and may use any other Pelco UTP device as the receiver at the other end of the video security installation. Connecting the Pelco active receiver to a passive transceiver with an appropriate Cat cable will allow as much as 4,000 feet of distance for the installation.
