Galago Ltd have gained the contract to supply a security team to Security Printing and Systems.
Galago Ltd have recently been awarded the contract to supply a security team to Security Printing and Systems Ltd based in North Manchester. Formed from the privatisation of HMSO, Security Printing and Systems have the responsibility of producing a wide range of printed security items. The highly sensitive nature of such documentation requires stringent screening checks on the background of any personnel employed on the premises and a high standard of service to ensure maximum security at all times. The Galago team are employed in all areas of the business, including supervision of the vulnerable waste destruction area, where waste documents are shredded. The security personnel patrol the premises, guard entry and exit points, search vehicles and staff, escort visitors and contractors around the site and monitor CCTV equipment 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Commenting on Galago?s appointment, SPSL Security Manager, David Barlow, says: ?Such is the nature of our business we need to ensure that the security personnel give 100% all of the time. They are trusted members of our team and are given full authority to challenge any points of concern. They are responsible for ensuring that security exit checks and searches are carried out in a discreet manner, and also ensuring that each search is fully documented. Each security post is controlled by a written procedure, so security personnel are in no doubt as to what is required. As you can imagine this is a pretty demanding requirement, but the Galago team have approached the challenge in both a professional and dedicated manner. All of them fully appreciate the importance of their role and they bring a refreshing attitude of teamwork to the assignment. This approach obviously pays immense dividends.? Several staff transferred under TUPE to Galago, and Angela Egan, Business Development Manager at Galago, is more than happy with the team that has been built up, which was largely the responsibility of Wayne Beard, Operations Manager for Galago in Manchester. Angela Egan says: ?Recruiting quality staff is always a major thorn in our side and we were delighted to be able to meet the strict requirements demanded by SPSL. There is a common goal to see a job well done and as the whole team take a real pride in what they do, they consistently achieve the high standards required, ensuring what hopefully will be a happy, long and successful partnership.? Galago Ltd is part of the OCS Group, the UK?s largest privately owned international support services Company, with over 42,000 employees and an annual turnover in excess of œ390m.
