Video Additions

by Msecadm4921

The Eventys range of digital video recording systems from Siemens Security Products has additions.

New products include the Eventys Pro Net Digital Video Management System, a network-ready family of DVRs with support for features such as voice over IP (VoIP); and an upgraded range of Eventys Lite DVRs, which now includes models with 1.5TB of internal storage. The Eventys Lite CMS software package now allows up to 64 live cameras to be viewed simultaneously.

The flagship model is capable of recording eight analogue or IP video channels at 25 fps with D1 resolution, while the entry level model can record 16 channels at 25fps with CIF resolution. Also available is a 32-channel model capable of recording at 6 fps with CIF resolution. All models can be supplied as hybrid or IP-only versions.

The internal storage of Eventys Pro Net DVRs can be supplemented with external RAID-configured storage and, for convenient backing up of stored images, the units offer automatic archiving. Live and stored images from Eventys Pro Net DVRs can be viewed locally or remotely using software supplied. This supports individual user profiles and logs viewing activity for security purposes. Provision is made for networking multiple sites on a single system.

With two-way voice over IP the operator can communicate with remote sites to warn intruders that they are being monitored. Other uses for two-way VoIP features include communication with door entry systems and remote help points.

Eventys Pro Net DVRs are designed for integration with CCTV and access control. They also incorporate both comparative and adaptive motion detection facilities. When an alarm is detected, the units can be programmed to initiate actions such as issuing email or SMS alerts and driving PTZ cameras to preset positions.

The upgraded models in the Eventys Lite range of standalone and networked DVRs offer as well as increased internal storage, the recording of CIF images at up to 25 fps on selected models. Support for EPOS integration, x2 IP cameras and external storage will be added in the near future.

To facilitate the viewing of images from multiple DVRs in a single interface, Siemens is soon to release its new Eventys Lite CMS software package. Not only does this allow images from 64 live cameras to be viewed simultaneously, it also allows recordings to be searched and reviewed from all the remote DVRs.
