The new 3600 series of colour videophones from Videx Security has the latest voice switching techniques to provide the user with a choice of settings and operational functions.
The videophones can be used as conventional telephone handsets, besides providing options for hands-free call answering and simplex operation.
With what the company calls an elegant and compact design, the 3600 videophone is also robust, being made from white impact resistant ABS plastic. A 3.5-inch colour active matrix LCD monitor gives it’s claimed a clear image. An on screen display allows the user to select operation preferences via an intuitive programming menu. These include privacy settings, melodies and call volume as well as picture adjustments.
The videophone also has three large buttons to control all functions including the programming of the user preference settings. All buttons have status indicator LEDs and a local doorbell input function is also provided.
For an installer, ease of installation is essential, as the firm says; and the wiring for the 3600 is carried out using a separate back plate. The videophone can be used with composite or twisted pair video signals.
