This was the first time the centre had used a card based security system, therefore webEntry presented fundamental characteristics that made it a distinct and obvious choice.โ
The Belfast-based manufacturers say that the webEntry system will form a combined solution to secure up to 32 doors at the facility. Employing web-based technology, an assigned IP address permits operational privileges through any networked PC employing Microsoft Internet Explorer. Operators can add card-holders, edit access levels and time zones of staff and visitors, receive and/or view alarms, as well as remote door opening by the click of a mouse. Reports and subsequent analysis can also be compiled as webEntry provides an audit trail of all system activities that can be called upon and viewed later date. Installation was made easy, CEM says, through the webEntry โplug and playโ facility removing any complex install procedures, it is claimed. The client used HID readers that were interfaced with the webEntry controller using DCM 150 unit (Door Control Module), that provides control and monitoring for up to two doors.
