IE Keyprocessor, a Dutch developer of electronic security systems and products, is exhibiting at Maritime Security Expo 2004.
This event for maritime sectors takes place in the World Trade Centre in Rotterdam on November 1 and 2.
IE Keyprocessor mentions the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code, worldwide guidelines to secure ships and terminals against terrorist attacks and transport of illegal goods and persons. The company presents its security and safety solutions at booth A4. Two themes, it says, are paramount: integrated security and safety management; and web based technology. IE Keyprocessor systems and products are developed in house, the firm says.
Integrated security
IE Keyprocessor is presenting its web based systems, which offer the possibility to integrate access control, intrusion detection, camera surveillance, fire detection, asset management & people protection, time and attendance and company parking. iProtect is also suitable, the firm says, for port applications because of functions including: central registration of port facility cards, security hosting for smaller organisations, company parking and people protection for detection in case of calamities. Some Benelux port authorities use iProtect, the firm adds.
Web based
iProtect is web based. Both the communication between the hub and the substations and the communication between the hub and the operating PCs are transmitted via the internet protocol TCP/IP, the product makers say. This enables the integration of iProtect within existing LAN and WAN networks. The browsable interface contributes to a reduction of the Total Cost of Ownership. Thanks to XML, the data exchange with other applications is no problem.
