Ten SmartWater kits are up for grabs for Northamptonshire residents who complete a Police Authority survey.
Northamptonshire Police Authority is urging residents to fill in the survey on the policing part of the council tax.
The survey asks people to state what they think about the amount of council tax which goes towards policing in Northamptonshire and how much extra people would be prepared to pay each week for policing.
Helen Cook, of Northamptonshire Police Authority, said: “We would very much like to hear people’s views on the policing part of the council tax.
“It would be great if people could just take a few moments of their time to fill in this short survey. There are only five questions and all people need to do is highlight the answer that best describes their feelings in each question.”
The majority of households in Northamptonshire will pay £158.77 or less in police council tax in 2008/9 – around 43p per day. This is a 4.9per cent increase on the amount paid in 2007/08.
Each year, inflation alone adds around four or five per cent to the council tax which means that any new spending – such as more officers or better technology – must be found from savings within budgets or a larger increase in the council tax. The draw for the SmartWater kits will take place on November 10.
