BSIA at Intersec Dubai

by Mark Rowe

The BSIA (British Security Industry Association) is to partner with the Department for International Trade/Defence Export Services Organisation (DIT/DSO) in raising awareness of the UK exports in the security sector.

The partnership, which forms part of DIT/DSO’s commitment to the recently launched Export Strategy, will be promoted at Intersec Dubai from January 19 to 21, where members of the BSIA pavilion will be offered the opportunity for international press liaison and media exposure over the three-day event. BSIA members who also wish to export to overseas markets will also be able to work with DIT/DSO, via the BSIA communications team, on devising a media strategy to raise awareness of any product or project that they wish to launch internationally.

The association’s Director of Manpower and Export, John MacAskill, pictured, said: “The BSIA look forward to working with DIT/DSO on promoting the value of our members’ UK exports to overseas markets through our partnership starting with Intersec in Dubai. Our partnership will go a long way in fulfilling our commitment to raising awareness of our members work overseas and will work hand in hand with the government’s Export Strategy.”

And Tracy Buckingham, Deputy Director for Security & Cyber Security Exports in DIT DSO said: “This important partnership will help us further promote the capabilities of the UK security sector, support more exporters and encourage greater industrial cooperation with overseas stakeholders.”
