Car crime date

The UK branch of the IAATI (International Association of Auto Theft Investigators) is running its 2016 conference in Loughborough on Wednesday and Thursday, June 8 and 9. The day and a half event at the Holywell Park Conference Centre is aimed at practitioners, opinion formers and law enforcement and has a focus on training and awareness; sessions will cover electronic and physical security, marking, insurance fraud and other aspects of vehicle crime. Topics include GPS jamming as an aid to car theft; and the recovery of stolen plant.

Incoming IAATI UK Branch President is Justin Powell. Other speakers are Det Supt Andy Lee, Director of Intelligence, Leicestershire Police, the local force for Loughborough; Todd Blair, IAATI International President; Martyn Huntley and Peter Harwood, Corporate Investigations, Jaguar Land Rover; Simon Whitaker of Port of Tilbury Police; Supt Andy Beard, Vehicle Crime lead, West Midlands Police; Neil Thomas, Director of Investigative Services, APU Limited; and Oliver Little, Head of the Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED), City of London Police, on ‘cash for crash’ cases.
