The new IDIS AI Box for Retail, the DV-1304, gives retailers AI-powered business and customer intelligence, without the usual associated price tag.
As the firm says, retail stores are using analytics-driven metrics of activity in-store to increase sales and build customer loyalty. Now the company’s AI Retail Box makes this approach practical even for the smallest of stores, it’s claimed. The new product is an NDAA-compliant, four-channel add-on appliance that gives users additional functionality from either their existing IDIS DirectIP network cameras and network recorders (NVRs) or new systems.
With the plug-and-play installation and no upfront or ongoing license fees, the DV-1304, pictured, gives retailers actionable intelligence, including queue monitoring, heat mapping, occupancy monitoring and real-time activity data from specified locations. The product is designed to deliver detailed analytics using cameras positioned for perspective view, without needing more, dedicated top view cameras. This makes it possible to analyse a range of metrics from even small-scale camera systems, the developers say. Users don’t need extra analytics software or edge camera upgrades.
A dashboard can integrate up to 32-channels, giving store staff at-a-glance intelligence for local managers and head office to generate reports on day-to-day activity and long term or seasonal trends.
IDIS says that it has listened to retailers’ concerns around the need to maintain resilience against infection risks: the product retains the tools in the AI COVID Box that helped stores to be managed safely during the pandemic, including people counting, mask-detection, as well as occupancy and social distancing control.
