Two events for private security were due to go more or less head to head in the autumn; not any longer. Event organisers UBM plc announced that after discussions with rival IMP Events, its new Global Security Summit will lead as London’s main security event for the senior end-user community. Both parties have agreed that the market is best supported by just one event.
Global Security Summit will run on October 10 and 11, 2012, at the Olympia Exhibition and Conference Centre in west London, co-located alongside UBM’s built environment exhibitions – Total Workplace Management, the facilities management and estates event, Energy Solutions, for energy management and procurement and the newly launched CIBSE exhibition and conference.
“As organisers of the IFSEC Global Security Events in the UK, India, Africa and Saudi Arabia, we believe that our industry partnerships and commitment to serving the security market, best places UBM to bring this new event to London. We’re glad that IMP Events will be assisting us in the transition to a single London Event for 2012,” said Charlie Cracknell, Event Director for UBM’s Security Portfolio. “Our research has emphatically told us that London needs and wants an end-user focused event, that brings together solutions and education underpinned by a new one-to-one meeting format.”
Graeme Howe, Director at IMP, had organised ISS, due to run at ExCeL in London Docklands in October 2012. He said: “Both UBM and IMP recognise that the market is best served by one London-based end-user security event and we are delighted that UBM has invited us to help them make their Global Security Summit the de-facto London security event. As organisers of IFSEC International and being so deeply entrenched in the market, UBM is very well placed to deliver to the market this much needed London event and, for the good of the market, we are very happy to help them.”
