Brief:

Of all the events of our lifetimes, probably 9-11 will be the most written about. One book added to the mountain of discussion is 11 September and its Aftermath, edited by Stanley D Brunn. It has the rather forbidding title of The Geopolitics of Terror. While not directly of interest to security professionals - Brunn is a US professor of geography - its essays range over the worldwide effects of terror. As Brunn notes in his introduction, many recognise - whether in the military, or politics, or business - that the world is in flux. The effects of 9-11 take some explaining - everything from soaring bomb shelter sales to investment in maritime and border security. Chapters cover Sri Lanka and the Netherlands.
