This book although interesting is a basic guide to Executive Protection. It is a suitable introduction to readers without experience of executive protection methods. The author Nick Nicholson is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and holds a PhD in Police Administration. Section one discusses the importance of effective planning covering the basics of office and residential security, travel (before and during), special events, and security in the air and at sea. Section two deals with the selection and training of executive protection staff. Next come an overview of organizational structures; technical aspects such as explosive detection, and surveillance equipment; preparation for emergency evacuations, and communication systems; and the use of incident reports and other communication necessary in executive protection. The last section deals with threat assessments, collecting data. Producing a threat profile and law enforcement liaison.
