Bus data archived

by msecadm4921

London United Busways, one of the major bus operators in the UK, operates out of eight depots, running 885 buses in London on behalf of the Transport for London. The firm sought to manage the CCTV data from 16 cameras on each bus without an automated workflow.

Rimage provided a 5400N system that streamlines the department’s workflow into an automated archival process. The system archives video in a stable format, meeting the evidence standards needed for the Crown Prosecution Service. It also lightens the workload of Martin Davis, the CCTV manager of London United Busways, whose job is to manage all the CCTV fitted to  buses. Much of his job means producing, maintaining and archiving the footage used for evidence in the courts.

The Rimage 5400N produces a final disc with the date, time, reference and responsible user thermally printed onto the disc by the Rimage Everest thermal retransfer printer. The result is a scratch-proof, waterproof, fade-resistant and permanent disc as a way to store large amounts of video.

“The Rimage solution not only saves time and manual labor, but easily produces a professional looking product that is defect-free,” said Juergen Sattelmayer, Rimage Business Development Manager in EMEA. For more information visit www.rimage.com.
