Panasonic update on Cameramanager

by Mark Rowe

Featured in the August print issue of Professional Security was the acquisition by Panasonic of Cameramanager.

At the IFA 2013 exhibition, Panasonic Europe announced the establishment of Panasonic Cloud Management Services Europe BV and its intention to expand the Cameramanager CCTV service into wider markets.

Panasonic Europe has set up a new company, Panasonic Cloud Management Services Europe B.V., to offer business cloud services. The new company is formed from CameraManager.com, acquired by Panasonic this July, a cloud video provider based in the Netherlands.

Besides supporting Panasonic and third party CCTV cameras as it does now, Panasonic Cloud Management Services Europe will be expanding its cloud monitoring services into three new markets: SMB, SOHO and home residential. This will allow small business owners and individuals to monitor anything from a single asset to a chain of shops or business premises, from any mobile device with access to a browser or by means of Cameramanager app, available for smartphones and tablets. Using this service, customers can select how many cameras they wish to connect, at what resolution and for how long they wish to keep the recordings in the cloud.

Cameramanager service is already available across Europe through selected partners and it will be soon expanded across the region supported by the approved network of Panasonic security systems installers and resellers, the firm adds.

Masaki Arizono, Managing Director of Panasonic System Communications Europe, said: “Panasonic is proud to be able to provide small company owners and residential property owners the peace of mind and key benefits of video surveillance traditionally enjoyed by large companies, all for an affordable monthly price. This combines the advanced features of Panasonic IP-based CCTV cameras with the revolutionary surveillance capabilities of the Cameramanager cloud service.”
