PTZ dome camera

by Mark Rowe

JVC Professional has launched a new 1080p Super LoLux HD network PTZ dome camera: the VN-H557U. Delivering high resolution images, with wide area coverage, the dome is suitable the makers say for applications such as shopping centres, airports and petrol stations.

The camera features 10x optical zoom and 350 degrees pan/tilt operation, while its Super LoLux HD technology delivers high-definition resolution and light sensitivity to produce colour images at 0.45 lux. The camera features dual stream operation (30ips / 30ips JPEG / H.264 High Profile), with SD card recording with alarm record function and direct MPEG 4 export. It also has 3D dynamic noise reduction and supports the latest ONVIF protocol for network cameras (Profile S). Audio and alarm support is built in and the product allows multi-angle installation. There’s latency of 50ms when using a USB joystick to control pan and tilt, and with an MTBF (mean time between failures) of 30,000 hours, it will give many years of service, the makers add.
