Printers presentation

by Mark Rowe

Among those presenting at Intergraf’s 2013 Security Printers International Conference in Vienna this week (Messe Platz 1021, Booth G5) is HID Global. The company will highlight its suite of services, products and solutions that include e-documents, readers, inlays, prelaminates, LaserCard optical security media, ActivID Credential Management System and Asure ID personalisation software.

HID Global will demonstrate its Government ID Solutions portfolio and integrated capabilities for delivering smart card ID credentials and what the US firm terms total ID ecosystems for e-passports, national IDs, foreign residents, worker IDs, drivers’ licences and vehicle registration programmes. Earlier this year, HID Global’s card manufacturing operation in Rastede, Germany earned the Security Management System for Security Printing certification from Intergraf, a standards body for the security printing industry. The certification validates a security standard for security printers based on data security, print quality and processes as well as on-site facility security. HID Global is one of only a few card manufacturers producing identity credentials for the government-to-citizen market to hold this status.

HID Global will present during Track Session 4: Bringing Documents into Circulation on Thursday, December 5, from 4pm to 4.30pm

Dr. Hermann Hecker, Director of eDocuments – Delivering on the ten-year-lifespan goal: technologies, processes and approaches to optimise the longevity of advanced, multi-technology smart card programmes. Topics will include:

– Credential durability is key to improving a government’s return on investment
– Developments such as HID Global’s crack prevention technology are extending the life of polycarbonate ID cards. Visit http://www.hidglobal.com
